The short version
There are no accounts and no server that stores your data. Your sessions, history and settings stay in your browser. The one thing that does leave your device is a basic visit count, collected by Google Analytics. It records which pages are viewed, not what you train.
What stays on your device
Sessions, workout history, custom exercises and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to this site's host or to anyone else. Two consequences:
- Clearing your browser's site data deletes them. Settings → Export saves a backup file.
- They don't follow you to another browser or device unless you export and import them.
Shared links
The Copy link button in the builder puts the whole session — its name, exercises, reps and notes — into the link itself, after the #. Nothing is uploaded or stored: anyone you give the link to can read the session, and nobody else can. The part after the# is never sent to this site's server, and the page removes it from the address bar as soon as the session has opened.
What Google Analytics collects
The live site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. When you open the timer (this privacy page doesn't load it), your browser loads a script from Google and sends it:
- the page you're on —
/, or/builderwhen you move to the builder inside it; - the page title and the address of the page that sent you here, if any;
- technical details your browser shares by default, such as its type and version, your operating system, screen size and language;
- an approximate location derived from your connection, such as country or city. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Google Analytics also sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and_ga_ followed by the property's ID) so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. They don't contain your name or any workout data.
Never sent: session names, exercises, rep counts, notes, history or settings. Page views are reported by view name only.
Why, and who sees it
The counts show which pages people use, so the site can be improved. They're reported in aggregate to the site's owner. Google processes the data as the provider of the service — seeHow Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Opting out
The timer works the same whether or not analytics loads. Any of these stops the counting:
- A content blocker or tracking-protection setting in your browser.
- Google'sAnalytics opt-out browser add-on.
Other
The fonts and everything else the app needs are served from this site; apart from Google Analytics, nothing is loaded from third parties. There are no advertisements, and nothing is sold. If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
